It is believed that Ashtaroth is named after the Mesopotamian deity Ishtar. Hell needs his guidance and has relied on him for quite some time now. Ashtaroth is actually part of an evil trinity with Lucifer and Beelzebub combined. That trinity is widely recognized in hell and people will worship the demon from time to time. Lucifer relies on his leadership to keep all of the demons well organized in that realm. People worship Ashtaroth and see him as the Great Duke of Hell. The realm has seen some tremendous growth in demons since his reign got off to a great start. That proves that the demon leader has a considerable amount of sway and deserves to be part of the evil trinity.

Ashtaroth in King Solomon

There are various references to the demon, including in the testament of King Solomon. There is also a seal for the demon, which includes his name written along the borders. He is typically depicted as a nude man with feathered wings. His role is usually assigned as being the prince of accusers and inquisitors. Solomon supposedly referred to him as an angel, although that might be a misinterpretation of the demon. Worshipers have followed his deeds for quite some time now as well. Demons have followed his lead for quite some time now too. They respect the whims of Ashtaroth in that realm and even in the world of humans.

Ashtaroth in the Hebrew Bible

The Hebrew Bible does make mention of him from time to time. That does suggest that he has been in an alliance with Lucifer for many years now. Hell has become a frightening place with him at the forefront. That gives Lucifer free reign over many of the denizens in Hell. The human world has been changed forever with his interference in time. He is making headway and people want to discuss upcoming arrangements now being made. True fans of Lucifer also need to get caught up with Ashtaroth in certain ways. He could prove to be an influential figure for many too.

Forneus - Grand Marquis of Hell

The demon Forneus reigns in Hell as a Grand Marquis. He commands 29 legions and happens to be well-respected. He is a close companion of Lucifer and has made a definite impression on the realm. He is known for being well educated, which is a rare trait for a demon. Learn a little about his background and typically appearance just in case you meet him in all his hellish glory.

The Traits of Forneus

Forneus most often takes the appearance of a great sea monster, which is in direct conflict with his high level of education and intelligence. His name is derived from the Latin word 'fornus', which means an oven. That is perfect because Forneus reigns in a place where flames rage every day. He has the ability to take on a human form when meeting with others. In fact, he seems to prefer the human form over his demonic form and often wears red robes and the crown of the Marquis. Forneus has become one of the most well recognized demons in the underworld, which only adds to his infamy.

Forneus the Protector

Myths suggest that he causes men to have good reputations in other worlds and he is an influential force in many men’s lives. Forneus is an expert in communication, rhetoric and foreign languages, and when he chooses to teach men these arts, it results in the transformation of their lives. Many even see an improvement in their social standing. This has made Forneus an excellent placeholder for Lucifer himself, and hell has certainly grown tremendously since Forneus influence began.  Forneus also has the great distinction of having worked for both angels and demons, which makes him somewhat unique in Hell.
