The Old Testament is an important segment of the Holy Bible. That book is the basis of many world religions, including Judaism and Christianity. The Hebrew people are the focal point of the Old Testament and their struggles for prosperity are covered. God is the Creator and figurehead of the events during these books. The Holy Bible is the sacred text recorded by the Hebrew people along the way. The Bible has factored in to the lives of a lot of people who want to see God's plan unveiled. His presence would set the stage for some incredible events, which would certainly put mankind to the test too.
God's Master Plan God has a master plan and that tends to affect the lives of a lot of people. He created the world and caused the events of the biblical flood too. He oversaw Moses as he guided the Hebrew people out of Egypt. God also wrote the Ten Commandments and gave Moses an instruction to further lead his people. That allowed the Hebrews to flee from Egypt when they got a chance. Later on in the book, other Hebrew men would rise to meet God's favor too. King Saul and King David were great leaders who started the state of Israel. Men like Job would live out their lives in a way that pleased God as well. Hebrews in the Old Testament The Old Testament is known for great conflict and strife for the Hebrew people. According to the word of the bible, the Hebrews are God's chosen people in the Holy Land. Canaan was conquered by the Israeli people long ago. Now the descendants must continue on the legacy of that conquest and conversion. The Old Testament also makes some prophecies that will surprise many readers. It argues that the Hebrew people will rise to ascendancy under a new leader. A new King will rise and lead the people to greatness. Their status as God's chosen people will be made clear in the future. God's Kingdom will be glorified and that is valuable for a lot of reasons as well. Nephilim in Genesis
Genesis 6:1-4 mentions that the Nephilim were creatures that existed before the Deluge. They represented an important segment of the Earth and were supposedly the daughters of men. The Nephilim are mentioned in the Hebrew bible and many interpretations are gleaned from that. The offspring may be referred to as fallen angels and offspring of fallen men themselves. They are not counted among the angels of Heaven. They were damned to walk the Earth and men would encounter them on occasion. That demonstrated the true gravity of the Fall of Man from Genesis. The expulsion of mankind from the Garden of Eden had produced a profound effect on the Earth. Nephilim in Numbers Numbers 13:33 makes further mention of the creatures called Nephilim. They inhabited the area of Canaan before the Israelite forces conquered the area. In fact, the Israelite forces actually encountered the creatures when they conquered Canaan. Conquest of Canaan also required the expulsion of these offspring demons from the region. That area was cleansed and a new era of mankind seemed to emerge. But the looming threat of the creatures was always an ever present threat to them. Israel would forever remember the influence of these offspring too. Lucifer and the Nephilim Lucifer seems to recognize these offspring and may use them from time to time. The creatures were once angelic and children of the Heavens. But during the fall of man, they mingled with the children of Cain. Their offspring would ultimately produce a race of monsters feared by mankind. The children of Cain would forever tarnish the world until after the Deluge. That influenced the world and changed perspectives on the experience of mankind. Man no longer saw the world as his own anymore. It was arguably the domain of these creatures claimed by Lucifer. That was a significant blow to the progress of Man during the Deluge era. Nephilim in Hell and the Deluge Hell has seen a rise of the offspring known as Nephilim. They are cast out of paradise, doomed to walk the Earth just like mankind will be in time. But their large size and monstrous appearance has made them an important figure in time. Hell has seen more numbers of the creatures go on the rise recently. That has bolstered the legions of Hell and added some diversity in good time as well. Lucifer is pleased with the change of pace that the creatures introduce. These monstrosities are a significant challenge to the Earth and Hell is very pleased with that change. Nephilim are feared by men and Moses makes mention of that during his time. The era before the Deluge included a lot of fearsome foes for mankind to encounter. Biblical era men would encounter these creatures and take note of their great size. They mentioned that men would seem like grasshoppers in size compared to these offspring of Cain. Their large size would catch men off guard and put fear in them. Genesis 6:2 states that so called "Angels" actually fathered the race. But the offspring quickly lost their way in the world before the Deluge takes place. Mythology from other cultures will make mention of these offspring from time to time. Some say that Orion may have been the father of the original offspring. Both Orion and the creatures are mentioned by certain folklore tales in the world. Sumerian mythology also makes mention of creatures bearing a similar name. These creatures were actually considered to be heroes in the folklore of the culture. Sumerian mythology paints a good picture of the offspring on Earth. Similarly, the creatures go forward in a world before the Great Flood takes place on Earth. Nephilim in Modern Times Recently, new media sources have also made mention of the offspring. The creatures make an appearance in TV episodes of the X-files and Supernatural. The video game Darksiders will also showcase the creatures along the way. Typically, the media will paint the creatures as dark and dangerous for a number of reasons. They are typically the antagonists in a series that is carefully concocted. These media sources actually mention that the offspring were unholy right from the start. They are the product of a forbidden union between angels and demons. That makes for a dramatic retelling of the offspring mentioned in the bible too. Biblical Horror Author Josephine Leonard Biblical horror author Josephine Leonard wants to introduce new demonic forces. These offspring of Lucifer may just appear in some recent books. But readers agree that the book series is well worth the experience.
The roots of the demon, Lucifer, and his descent to rule over the underworld, or Hell, have been told numerous times dating back to ancient cultures. For Biblical horror author Josephine Leonard of Indianapolis, the story of the fallen angel has taken up much of her time. Leonard has been exploring the themes surrounding the figure of Satan and built on the original stories in the Bible and beyond with her work. In her latest book, Indianapolis-based Biblical horror author Josephine Leonard recently discusses the figure of evil within, "Tales From The Demon" which tackles the difficult idea of the Devil, demons and evil.
The "Light-Bringer" The Latin translation of Lucifer is "Light-Bringer", with the everyday meaning of the word being "morning star" within Roman society. The Latin translation is similar to those used in the Old Testament where the name gives no indication of a fallen angel as it refers back to early Islamic traditions regarding the arrival of humans on Earth. The idea of the devil beginning life as an angel who refuses to prostrate himself before God or the figure of Adam in the Garden of Eden is not one seen in early Christianity. In fact, two bishops carried the name with Saint Lucifer of Cagliari and a former bishop of Siena. The Rebellious Angel One of the most famous stories based around the figure of Satan in the Christian tradition is that of the fallen angel who departed the service of God for any variety of reasons. One of the first mentions of the "Light-Bringer" in the Bible is found in the book of Ezekiel where the figure we now often see as the devil is said to be a perfect creature created by God. Despite the perfection discussed in the Bible, Ezekiel explains the figure was corrupted by its own beauty and wisdom resulting in God casting it to Earth from heaven. As the Book of Ezekiel continues the story, the demon figure is described as believing so much in its own importance to the universe which resulted in the desire to take the position of God. Eventually, the story explains the first sin committed in the universe was that of self-importance which resulted in the fallen angel being cast out of heaven to Earth. A Human Figure and Devil The figure who many now believe to be the Devil is linked to a former King of Babylon known as Tyre. The figure of Tyre offers a similar story to the fallen angel who departed from Heaven to Hell as it is told in Ezekiel with the King being condemned for believing he was a God despite his mortal background. A number of scholars believe the figure of Tyre is referred to during much of the writing on Satan found in the Old Testament. However, it is generally agreed the demon comes into focus later in the story of the fall of the Babylonian monarch who is seen by some scholars as the human embodiment of the Devil. Over the course of the story of Satan told in the Old Testament in the book of Ezekiel, one of the important points told is of the fact the name of the Devil began as Lucifer before being changed to Satan after the angel was cast out of Heaven to Earth and Hell. The Heavenly Council One of the most famous stories about the fall of Satan to Hell is told by many who follow the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In this story, the figure of the "Light-Bringer", or "Morning Star" is taking part in a Heavenly Council when he refuses to accept the will of the Lord. The Mormon Scripture goes on to explain, after refusing to accept the will of God and beginning a rebellion, the Devil is cast out of Heaven and condemned to travel between Earth and the Underworld. The Mormon belief system sees Satan considered a perverse figure intent on destroying the souls of men. Occultism and Luciferianism To those who follow the religion of Luciferianism, the figure they follow is the fallen angel who is seen in a completely different light to that depicted by Christians. To many who practice occultism, the Devil is a liberator who has been cast out of Heaven by an illegitimate God or Jehovah. There are a number of followers of Luciferianism who believe the figure they follow was actually the God of all we see before his position was usurped by Jehovah and he was cast out of his own home. Interpretations of the Devil There are many different ways to interpret the figure we now refer to as the Devil; for example, Dante created an iconic interpretation of the Devil in his poem, "The Divine Comedy". In the poem, the figure is described as possessing three faces used for chewing on sinners while the huge wings of Satan are used to blow cold winds to Earth. Around the World, Hell and Lucifer are seen in different ways as many European traditions see the cloven hoof as a link between the Devil and goats. The English county of Lancashire has many stories detailing the trickery of the Devil as he tried to persuade innocent people to give him their soul in return for three wishes. The Lancashire hillside of Rivington Pike is said to be haunted by a mysterious, spectral horseman thought to be the devil himself capable of appearing in different forms to trick people into following him and giving up their soul. To learn more about Josephine Leonard's fictional exploration into the world of the bible, devil and demons, feel free to check out her latest book: Tales From The Demon. Cain, or Caim
Cain, the first murderer, was exiled by God for the treacherous murder of his brother Abel. This bloodthirsty act of rage was provoked only by a raging jealousy that he felt for his younger brother. Abel was a righteous and morally upright son, who praised god every day without fail. He lived his entire life as if god were watching...because god was, in fact, watching.
Cain, by contrast, was a selfish and greedy son. He cared nothing for the blessing of the lord, and was intent only upon personal gain. He farmed the land, but he was not motivated by a desire to feed the hungry or to build a prosperous civilization. He thought only of what he could gain, and so he farmed the earth greedily. In his greed, he depleted the land, but instead of learning from his greed he simply tilled a new field. God was not pleased with his wicked way of life nor with his selfish and destructive nature. When this selfish man brought an offering to God, the offering was not accepted, for God knew the work of Lucifer when he saw it. When Abel came with his offering, it was accepted. Cain became angry, and God spoke to him in an attempt to turn him from the murderous rage in his heart. The first murderer did not listen, and instead slew his brother in an angry argument. Cursed and disgraced, Cain was made to wander the land. Before long, he settled in a land called Nod, and there built a city which he named Enoch after his first-born son. Jocephus tells us that he became a leader of men in all sorts of wicked affairs. He became a robber and a reaver who took whatever he wanted from whomever he wanted. He ruled the city with an iron fist and cared for no one save himself. Yet his evil went deeper still. Before Cain was expelled to this land, he had begged god for mercy and forgiveness. While God did not forgive him, he did show him mercy. God put a mark upon the wayward son, that no wild animal or vengeful person would harm him. Upon seeing this mark, all creatures and all people instinctively knew that the bearer of that mark was not to be harmed. This mark meant that the sevenfold vengeance of God himself would be upon the one who took his life. In all the annals of Earth, Heaven, or Hell, has there ever been one who so perfectly represented the evil of Lucifer? Through God's infinite mercy, he could have possibly redeemed himself if he had changed his evil ways. Instead, he only used God's gift as tool for his own selfish and destructive ends. In the old Gaelic version of the Old Testament contained in the Lebor Gabala, he is called Caim, and it is by this name that he appears in the Goetia. He is said to be a president of hell and a ruler of thirty demonic legions. Biblical Horror Author Josephine Leonard Indianapolis biblical horror author Josephine Leonard has a different perspective on religion. Having been raised in a strict Roman Catholic environment, she rebelled early and began investigating various paths of alternative spirituality including the lesser known paths such as esoteric paganism and satanism. A native of Indianapolis, she does not profess a specific religion, but seeks to promote religious learning of all sorts as a way to help encourage a deeper sense of morality in society. It is hard to deny that religion is the underlying basis of all morality. Her recent book "Tales From The Demon" is a collection of short stories with a demonology theme. The stories are told from the point of view of various demons from early biblical history. Biblical horror author Josephine Leonard is also working on another book called "Whence They Came: The Beginning", which is a work of bible-based fiction which tells the story of Genesis through the eyes of Vetis, the first demon. This, we are told, is the demon who orchestrates the tempting of Eve, causing her to eat of the forbidden fruit and working to further drag humankind down into darkness after the expulsion from Eden. While the themes may be a little strange for some, it is important to bear in mind that this is merely an exploration of religious ideas using fiction as a vehicle. The writer is obviously not a satanist and obviously understands the inherent evil of the demonic world. For those of us who have delved into the dark and confusing world of the occult, this kind of fiction does provide some interesting food for thought. It might be worth it to pick up one of these books and give them a try. It is believed that Ashtaroth is named after the Mesopotamian deity Ishtar. Hell needs his guidance and has relied on him for quite some time now. Ashtaroth is actually part of an evil trinity with Lucifer and Beelzebub combined. That trinity is widely recognized in hell and people will worship the demon from time to time. Lucifer relies on his leadership to keep all of the demons well organized in that realm. People worship Ashtaroth and see him as the Great Duke of Hell. The realm has seen some tremendous growth in demons since his reign got off to a great start. That proves that the demon leader has a considerable amount of sway and deserves to be part of the evil trinity. Ashtaroth in King Solomon
Ashtaroth in the Hebrew BibleThe Hebrew Bible does make mention of him from time to time. That does suggest that he has been in an alliance with Lucifer for many years now. Hell has become a frightening place with him at the forefront. That gives Lucifer free reign over many of the denizens in Hell. The human world has been changed forever with his interference in time. He is making headway and people want to discuss upcoming arrangements now being made. True fans of Lucifer also need to get caught up with Ashtaroth in certain ways. He could prove to be an influential figure for many too. Biblical Horror Author Josephine LeonardBiblical Horror author Josephine Leonard is expanding on the world of demons. Lamia have been widely discussed by writers and mythologists almost since the beginning of time. The Lamia first appeared in Greek mythology where she was depicted as a child-eating woman, and once Hera entered the picture, the story turned even darker. Hera ruined the woman’s life, resulting in Lamia going insane. As far as Hell goes, it’s much more lively with the Lamia roaming the underworld. Over the years, these demon women have acquired a reputation for destruction. Mankind now fears these female demons, who were originally depicted as being half-woman, half-snake. Lamia in LiteraturePoet John Keats once wrote a story about the Lamia in the 19th century. That offered a Romantic era twist on the classic Greek myth. John Keats introduced new themes and captivated his readership in some significant ways. Supposedly, the creature was originally a Libyan queen that was loved by Zeus. His tryst with her prompted Hera to exact her revenge in some surprising ways. John Keats explored the myth and expanded on the character in good time. Lamia and Vampire LoreEventually, the creature also became synonymous with a female vampire. Vampire lore grew with the addition of the demon to the fold. Now female vampires would stalk their victims and learn more about the world of these monsters. Hell has seen a rapid increase of interest in the female vampire character. The demon is famous for haunting the night and stalking human victims. Bram Stoker was a later writer who took great interest in the concept. He expanded on the role of female vampires of the night. That added to the lore and legends that have taken place in real time. Think about how the fear surrounding female vampires has grown over the last few centuries. That is a testament to his legendary influence among people and his ability to captivate mortal races. Asmodeus commands a special place in Hell and for a good reason. He is affiliated with Lucifer and many other legions of demons in Hell. He is sometimes referred to as the King of the Nine Hells, which testifies to his true influence in the earthly world and the underworld.
Asmodeus and Lucifer
Lucifer has come to trust Asmodeus with a lot of tasks. As the King of many demons, he commands a lot of respects in that realm. That allows him to accomplish much of the goals set down by the leaders of the underworld. That realm has seen some tremendous growth lately as well. Asmodeus continues to carry some clout with humans above ground in time. He strikes deals and meets with mortals to conclude an incredible new treaty. Many regard him as the demon of lust and he is known for torturing the genitals of some people. That trait has given him newfound recognition as a perverse demon lord in time.
The Temptation of Asmodeus
Many people have fallen to the whims of that demon king. He proves to have an alluring draw over a lot of people in that realm. People from the mortal world often strike a deal with him to a significant degree. That could prove to be a turning point that everyone wants to follow over time. The demon has carried a lot of influence and will turn the tide for demons in the realm. People under his sway will be condemned to a lifetime in hell itself. That is a significant burden on the lives of a lot of people who have been affected. The underworld has become more influential since the rise of that demon king. His lordship is feared and respected at the same time in the realm.
Josephine Leonard
Josephine Leonard is an Indianapolis author, who is slated to release a mind-bending series entitled Whence They Came later this fall. Fortunately, a precursor to the full-length demonic tale, entitled, Tales from the Demon, will be released later this July.
Vetis is like all fallen angels in that he was once one of the most beautiful and pristine of all the holies. He did not fall instantly, but his fall was so great that it would be hard to deny that he chose to be the evil thing that he is today. The tale of Vetis takes you from Lucifer and his own personal hell to the ways that demons work even in the modern day. What does it mean to know something about Vetis who is so much a part of the world of demonology? Vetis Was Not Always Evil Lucifer did not just suck all the demons right into hell automatically. These were fallen angels who were on the wrong side of the holies in a great battle that none of us ever saw. The story of Vetis is really about what happens when you realize you have been betrayed and have no way of getting back the position that you had. Vetis’ Transformation The transformation of Vetis is something that a lot of people can debate, but it seems to be something that happened when all the angels were battling. However, it does not seem like he just fell one day and all the other angels went with him. He had his own story which took him to the depths. This is where people often get confused because they do not see the choice that happens after the fact. He chose to have the evil powers in him increase by doing something with them that other demons would not do. In this way, Vetis is a leader that we cannot imagine because he is able to harness the power of other demons around him who were not as strong as he was when they were holy angels. Indianapolis Biblical Horror Author Josephine LeonardJosephine Leonard is a native of Indianapolis who has put a lot of work into the study of demonology and this demon in particular. She has done work that shows how much of an important role in history he plays along with all the other angels and demons whose names we know. She has written her most recent books, Tales of the Demon and Whence They Came: The Beginning, in Indianapolis to show that we must be aware of the forces around us because they are all different and all unique.
Her work is something that anyone who is interested in the holies or the demons should take a look at because she has given us all an in depth view of what it means to be face to face with one of the demons from antiquity. Forneus - Grand Marquis of HellThe demon Forneus reigns in Hell as a Grand Marquis. He commands 29 legions and happens to be well-respected. He is a close companion of Lucifer and has made a definite impression on the realm. He is known for being well educated, which is a rare trait for a demon. Learn a little about his background and typically appearance just in case you meet him in all his hellish glory. The Traits of ForneusForneus most often takes the appearance of a great sea monster, which is in direct conflict with his high level of education and intelligence. His name is derived from the Latin word 'fornus', which means an oven. That is perfect because Forneus reigns in a place where flames rage every day. He has the ability to take on a human form when meeting with others. In fact, he seems to prefer the human form over his demonic form and often wears red robes and the crown of the Marquis. Forneus has become one of the most well recognized demons in the underworld, which only adds to his infamy. Forneus the ProtectorMyths suggest that he causes men to have good reputations in other worlds and he is an influential force in many men’s lives. Forneus is an expert in communication, rhetoric and foreign languages, and when he chooses to teach men these arts, it results in the transformation of their lives. Many even see an improvement in their social standing. This has made Forneus an excellent placeholder for Lucifer himself, and hell has certainly grown tremendously since Forneus influence began. Forneus also has the great distinction of having worked for both angels and demons, which makes him somewhat unique in Hell. Indianapolis Biblical Horror Author Josephine LeonardJosephine Leonard’s latest book series, Whence They Came and her short story novel, Tales of the Demon,, will mention Forneus and many other theological demons. Josephine Leonard promises to unveil Whence They Came later this fall, and she hopes legions of fans are waiting to get the very first look.
